a little life, the movie

How did I spend my Wednesday evening? With dinner and a movie of course!
It was actually a salami and brie sandwich and a beer but who cares, it was good!

The movie was A Little Life. Well it’s a play that has been recorded and released to theaters, based on the novel with the same name by Hanya Yanagihara (my book review).

A few days ago, through a Facebook group, a woman said that she had just re-read this book since she was also going to watch the movie. I had no idea that this was even a thing, so with a quick Google search, I managed to get a ticket for myself for tonight at Klarabiografen because why not emotionally abuse myself once again in the name of literature?

But my God was it worth it and I already want to see it again.
And when I tell you that it was amazing?! The cast was and is pure perfection. It was fun to revisit the story once again through film. The only negative thing I have to say is that the actor that portrayed Andy, was how I envisioned Harold to look like and vice versa. But that’s obviously not the actors fault, just me and my imagination. It doesn’t take away the fact that they were all excellent in their portrayal of these literary personalities and characters. Perfectly casted! It’s definetly a must-watch, 5 out of 5 hangovers!

And of course, the ending broke me. Just like the fucking book did.
