the metamorphosis, a review
I.. I don’t even know what to say or write about this one.
Title: Förvandlingen (Metamorphosis).
Author: Franz Kafka.
Published: 1915.
Translation: Yes, by Karl Vennberg and Caleb J. Anderson.
Rating: 2,5 out of 5 hangovers.
Trigger warning: Death
So uhm.. A man wakes up and discovers that he’s now a giant bug. Good morning I guess.
It took me around 19 days to read this 74-paged book, which is insane. I just couldn’t get in to it and forced myself through it. But I have to admit, the ending made me tear up a little. I think that most of us have felt, by others, that we’re only oh so good, oh so special and oh so amazing when it benefits them. That is, from my understanding, the theme of this short novel and why I gave it a rating of 2.5 instead of only 2. Recovered from this one quick. I guess I understand why it’s so popular while at the same time, not understanding why it’s so popular, at all.
Other boks that I’ve read and reviewed: My year of rest and relaxation and A Little Life.
