It’s the blessing of having talented friends for me.
This book, written by one of my childhood friends Michelle, truly lives up to its title, Gossiping Neighbours because woooh!

There’s three main characters;
Florence, a youtuber whose husband is eager to expand their marriage to an open marriage.
Frederic, the French hairdresser who should learn how to keep his opinions to himself.
Oline, newly separated masseur who is starting a new life with her young son Tor following a separation from her sons father.

Each and every one of them is really going through it, as the kids say.
252 pages filled with drama, plot twists, deceit, pure comedy, shocking reveals, vengance and true love. Think Wisteria Lane but better.

Despite having three main characters with their own dilemmas and headaches in their lives including all the side characters such as neighbours, partners, friends and family members, the story doesn’t overwhelm you in the slightest. It’s easy to read and keep up with and I made sure to let the author know that she did an excellent job with introducing different characters in a way that’s easily digestible.

I usually don’t reach for feelgood stories since they, in my opinion, tend to be very predictable and mushy for my liking. I prefer stories that slightly traumatizes you to the brink of changing your brain chemistry (*cough* hint *cough*) but this? I lost count on how many times I loudly uttered the words OH MY GOD while reading this book. It’s fucking brilliant! I can not wait for the sequel and I told the author about it, already first in line.
