with love, the fallen angel

L’Ange Dechu. Or as we know it, The Fallen Angel by French artist Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889).
An ideal piece for the month of October, associated with the sign of Libra.
The zodiac sign, alongside Taurus, that is ruled by Venus and please, look at this pure and intense beauty.

Here is Lucifer, in pure rage after his fall from Heaven.
Can we appreciate the fact that Alexandre was only 24 years old when he painted this? Talk about talent!
I wish I was there to witness the unveiling of this painting to the public. To see the peoples reactions and listen in to their opinions. The shock and the gasps. Since this piece were created in the 1800’s, a time of high conservatism and a time where the church still had its hard grip on its citizens, oh you know one or two people had a slight heart attack. Someone’s monocle definetly broke in a thousand pieces.
I would absolutely hang this in my kitchen, by my dining table. Take out the window and hang up this beauty instead.
