with love, the execution of Lady Jane Grey

So haunting and outstanding. Eerie and innocent.
The story of Lady Jane Grey is a sad and bitter one, realizing that this could’ve all been avoided had somebody in her vicinity not been so hungry for power (although allegedly debunked by recent findings but I’m sticking to this narrative because it fits this dramatic painting).
It reminds me of another royals rise to their current status.
But let me shut up since its apparently just a rumor.

’The execution of Lady Jane Grey’ (1833)

An extremely beautiful painting depicting the beheading and execution of Lady Jane Grey, the Nine Days Queen of England and Ireland by French artist Paul Delaroche (1797-1856).
