with love, the birth of venus

I decided to add a new category to my blog, which be filled with and focus on art appreciation, specifically paintings.
On the first of every month, I’ll share a painting that makes my soul smile.
Maybe I’ll write a few lines about what each painting means to me and how they make me feel. Or maybe not. I might even take some pictures of my own that was influenced by said painting. Or not. I prefer for the art to speak for itself.
Either way, let us just appreciate their beauty.

’The birth of Venus’ (1485)

Dare I say, obviously in my own humble opinion, thee most iconic piece of painting in of all arts history.
The birth of a goddess, the goddess of love and beauty.
Since it symbolizes new hope and a new beginning, is there another perfect piece of art to kick of this new year? Even though it reminds me of spring thanks to all the beautiful and bright colours.
